Hello lovely people, welcome back to Learning The Bassics! Today I am interviewing one of Nashville’s most talented young artists and one of my closest friends, Noah, professionally known as “ColourBlue Leland”. You can click HERE to visit his SoundCloud and listen to some of his cool songs. You can also catch him on Instagram @colourblue.leland. Now, let’s jump into the interview!
Q: What’s up Noah? Tell the people where you’re from!
A: Nashville, TN
Q: When and how did your interest in music begin?
A: So I’ve been playing sports for a while and sometime a couple years ago during football season I got injured. I had been pushing through a rough patch in life anyway and I sorta just turned to music. I got my first mic one of those Christmases, and I’ve been rapping and mixing since.
Q: Is your experience with music hobby or career-based?
A: Career based.
Q: If it is career-based, what would you consider your title to be?
A: I’m a rapper and producer.
Q: Yess! How many years of experience do you have?
A: Only a few really.
Q: What are some of the biggest opportunities you’ve been presented with?
A: Performing at several shows like the Valentine’s R3troproduction show. I also recently rapped for a couple songs in Oak’s recent debut album, “The Dreamer”. You can listen to Hit My Line and Ghost Towns by visiting the album HERE.
Q: I’m obsessed with that album! Who are some of your favorite artists?
A: Tyler The Creator, Travis Scott and Quasi Moto.
Q: Travis Scott is cool. Who would you consider to be your best connection(s) in the industry?
A: Probably my mentor Darius Mines, and also the whole team of Localz Only. Oh yeah and also Vice Paradise.
Q: Cool! Do you have any music of your own you’d be willing to share with us?
A: Yeah you can click HERE to visit my SoundCloud.
Q: And what advice or words of wisdom do you have for my readers as well as myself?
A: Be consistent and just know that feeling stumped is natural and everyone gets that way so you just have to push through it and know that you’ll figure something out tomorrow.
Q: Great advice. What have been some of your biggest mistakes so far?
A: Probably not going to more shows and also not focusing enough on social media and networking because connections can really take you places.
Q: Who would you consider as your mentor(s) in the industry?
A: Definitely Kemo Sabi and Darius Mines.
Q: Awesome! And lastly, do you have any interesting and unrelated facts about yourself you’d be willing to share?
A: Yeah so an interesting fact about me is that I was born at my house because my mom had a midwife. I’m also really into cars and fashion design. I’ve designed clothes before and I’m also a photographer.
That’s really cool, thank you so much for your responses Noah!
That’s all for now, peace out y’all! And stay tuned for a surprise interview later on this afternoon!
